These are some of the photos I took while visiting New York’s best speakeasies with the most intriguing stories and the tastiest cocktails.
Enjoy!
Angel’s Share
Venerable Angel’s Share – one of the oldest modern day speakeasies, it was there before they became a fad.
The name “Angel’s Share” is inspired by an old Scottish legend which suggests that whenever some whiskey evaporates through the barrels, the case must be that the angels took their share.

The Garret
The Garret is one of the few, if not the only, speakeasies which are open during the day, alas only on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s a treat to visit during the day to enjoy this sunlit space dressed up as a cozy living room.

Slowly Shirley
This sub-subterranean speakeasy features inventive expensive cocktails, art-deco decor, intimate dark atmosphere and 1940s Hollywood’s Golden Age sensibility.
