Slowly Shirley Speakeasy

1–2 minutes

Slowly Shirley, Greenwich Village

121 West 10th St

This is a 1940s-era Hollywood-themed bar hidden beneath… another bar.

This subterranean speakeasy features inventive but expensive cocktails, art-deco decor, an intimate dark atmosphere and 1940s Hollywood’s Golden Age sensibility.

The cocktail menu is quite a good read, with very unusual names, some of which sound like Hollywood movie titles.

The bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The space provides room for 40 guests in the seating area, and the bar can hold another 14. If you want to enjoy the intimate atmosphere, make sure to avoid busy times, such as 8 – 10 pm, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

There is tasty food served from The Happiest Hour, the bar upstairs.
